The Limit Deposit Velocity is defined in this book as the line speed above which there is no stationary or sliding bed. So below this line speed there is either a stationary (small particles) or a sliding (large particles) bed.
The Limit Deposit Velocity can be determined with:
\[\ \mathrm{v}_{\mathrm{l s}, \mathrm{ld v}}=\mathrm{F _ { \mathrm { L } }} \cdot\left(\mathrm{2} \cdot \mathrm{g} \cdot \mathrm{R}_{\mathrm{s d}} \cdot \mathrm{D}_{\mathrm{p}}\right)^{\mathrm{1 / 2}}\]
The value of the LDV can be found in Figure 10.2-1 for a Dp=0.762 m (30 inch) pipe..
