1. Convert 10 LPS (liters per second) into a flow rate in GPM (gallons per minute).
2. Calculate the total usage (in gallons) of a sink that flows at 2.00 GPM for 3 minutes.
3. Calculate the flow rate (in GPM) of a sink by using a 5.00-gallon bucket and a timer. In this case, assume that the bucket fills in 150 seconds.
4. Calculate the flow rate (in GPM) of a sink by using a 1-liter bottle and a timer. In this case, assume that the bottle fills in 8.00 seconds.
5. Calculate the total usage (in gallons) of a 1.50 LPF toilet used 4.00 times per day after 1 month (assume March).
6. Calculate how long it will take to fill an 800-gallon tank with a hose that has a flow rate of 10 GPM.
7. Calculate the total volume (in gallons) of water wasted after 1 month (assume March) from a 0.100 GPM leak.
8. Calculate the total monthly (assume March) water usage of a house given the following data:
- One 2.00 LPF toilet used twice daily
- One 1.50 GPM sink used 15 minutes daily
- One 1.80 GPM sink used 20 minutes daily
- One 2.30 GPM shower used 8 minutes daily
- One 3.00 GPM hose used 10 minutes daily
- One 9.00 Gallons Per Wash dishwasher used twice per week
- One 20.0 Gallons Per Wash clothes washer used once per week.
- Remember to combine each result for the total monthly water usage!
9. Complete a home water usage audit for your own home or, if you do not have a home, consider your daily water usage wherever that is.
10. Capture a video of 2 GPM.
