| Heater block | The heating element used to melt the filament, its temperature is controlled by the thermistor | ||||
| Extruder | a gear system that grips on to the line of filament and feeds it through the 3D printer | ||||
| Infill | The pattern a 3D printer uses to fill in the empty, inner space, of the model it is printing, different patterns and the density of the infill are accessed in the slicer parameters | ||||
| Slicer | A program that takes a 3D model and sections it into many layers which can be read by the printer as paths for the printer nozzle to take and extrude filament on. Also, the program used to modify various parameters of your model before printing | ||||
| Visible line | Thick (0.7mm) and continuous line representing the visible edges of an object | ||||
| Hidden line | Thin (0.3mm) and dashed line that indicate edges that are hidden in the current view. | ||||
