    Peer review ensures accuracy and manufacturability in technical drawings. The person that reviews the drawing is called the Checker, and their name is placed in the Title Block for each drawing they check. The designer and checker collaborate to refine dimensions and tolerances, checking for missing details, and manufacturability.

    Additionally, peer review encourages continuous improvement by helping designers and engineers learn better ways to represent details on a technical drawing. By catching errors early in the design process, companies can reduce expensive rework and delays, not to mention reputational damage if a subpar product reaches the customer. In local and global companies alike, peer review is also critical for ensuring compliance with government or industry-adopted safety and performance standards.

    Bottom line, having drawings checked will improve the design, minimize risk, and ensure efficient manufacturing.
