The texts are written for students enrolled in 2-year associate’s, 4-year bachelor’s, and graduate-level courses. This specific text has been created by a team of scholars, students, support staff, and other professionals from across the country. It is intended for mechatronics courses for 4-year bachelor’s and graduate-level programs.
The Co‑DREAM OER team extends its sincere gratitude to Dean Christopher Cox of Clemson University’s Libraries and Dean Anand Gramopadhye of Clemson University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences. They envisioned the project and provided the essential administrative leadership that enabled its realization. The team also recognizes the leadership of Dr. Yang Wu, Open Resources Librarian at Clemson University Libraries. He has been the Principal Investigator for the project. Yang’s efforts translated the project’s vision into a successful grant proposal. He then guided a multidisciplinary, multi‑institutional team in the development of the textbooks. In addition, the project acknowledges the valuable administrative support of Dr. Yue Wang, Associate Dean of Research at Clemson’s College of Engineering, Computing and Applied Sciences; and Elias Tzoc Caniz, Associate Dean for Teaching, Learning, and Research at Clemson University Libraries. Their guidance was instrumental throughout the project.
The project acknowledges the development of the mini-Segway mechatronic system used in the book by Dr. Yingxu Wang, a former doctoral student at Michigan State University. David Benkes-Toth, a former Michigan State undergraduate student, contributed to the development of the three-wheel cart mechatronic system. The project also thanks Oluwadara Abimbade, Digital Learning Strategist at Clemson Online for providing instructional design input for the book. Co-DREAM OER extends special thanks to Matt Swank, Senior Art Director, Marketing and Communications; Walker Massey, Digital Accessibility Specialist; and Dan Lewis, Director of Digital Accessibility at Clemson University for making the book compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The project further recognizes the important contributions of copy editor Robert Weinstein, and graphic designer and typesetter Kim Scott, in the creation of the print textbook.
