    An array allows us to store many related values in one variable and apply operations to those values efficiently. This is one of the main reasons MATLAB is so useful for engineering calculations. In this chapter, we will focus on a specific type of array called a one-dimensional array, which stores values in a single row or a single column.

    • Explain what a one-dimensional array is and distinguish between row vectors and column vectors.
    • Create numeric arrays using square brackets, the colon operator, and linspace.
    • Access, modify, extend, concatenate, and delete elements in a vector.
    • Use relational operators to create logical arrays and use logical indexing to extract data.
    • Perform scalar arithmetic and element-by-element array operations correctly.
    • Pass arrays to MATLAB built-in functions and user-defined functions.
    • Combine relational and logical operators to solve practical data-filtering problems.
    • Use common math, statistics, and random-number functions with arrays.
